Job summary

GE Aerospace in Dayton, OH seeks a Prototype Fabrication Specialist to build, rework, repair, and test prototype aircraft generators, power boxes, and wiring harnesses in a lab environment. The role supports new product introduction and technology maturation by turning engineering concepts into high-quality hardware for testing and demonstrations.

You will work with engineers and technicians to assemble prototype hardware, interpret drawings, and document results, adhering to safety and quality

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of electro-mechanical fabrication, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
High school diploma with 4 years military or industrial electro-mechanical experience.
Experience with wiring harness fabrication.
Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
Familiarity with IPC standards for soldering and harness assembly.

Responsibilities

Prototype build, rework, and repair of aircraft generators, stators, rotors, and subassemblies.
Fabricate, assemble, and rework wiring harnesses and power conversion boxes.
Install and test prototype hardware, test fixtures, and support equipment.
Read, interpret, and apply electrical/mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams in a lab setting.
Document build steps, test setups, results, and nonconformances with traceability.
