Grain & Protein Technologies in Assumption, IL is seeking a Research & Testing Engineering Technician to support the development, validation, and continuous improvement of products. You will fabricate, assemble, test, and evaluate components based on engineering drawings and CAD models, partnering with product teams.

The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent experience and 3+ years in fabrication, welding, or product development.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of fabrication, welding, manufacturing, testing, or product development experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and CAD-generated prints.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering teams to develop, build, and evaluate new product concepts.
• Construct prototype equipment and assemblies from engineering drawings, CAD models, and sketches.
• Fabricate test fixtures, tooling, and mockups required for product validation.
• Work with engineers in troubleshooting design issues and implementing design improvements.
• Set up and conduct lab, shop, and field tests.
• Collect and document test data.
• Analyze results and assist with root cause investigations.
• Fabricate components using steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Perform MIG and stick welding.
• Operate saws, grinders, drills, mills, lathes, and related equipment.
