Job summary

1X is hiring for a prototyping-focused role in San Carlos, CA. You will own day-to-day prep, fabrication, and inspection of NEO prototypes, collaborating with engineers to design for additive manufacturing and optimize print parameters.

You’ll operate 3D printers, troubleshoot builds, and maintain accurate build/inspection records while keeping a safe workspace. On-site work is required in San Carlos, CA.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years hands-on experience in additive manufacturing or rapid prototyping.
• Prepare, slice, set up, and troubleshoot builds (FDM/FFF or SLA).
• Interpret drawings and work with a 3D CAD tool to modify parts.
• Use calipers or inspection tools and maintain build/inspection records.
• On-site work in San Carlos, CA with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, fabricate, and inspect 3D-printed prototypes for NEO.
• Modify prototype parts in CAD with engineers and apply DfAM.
• Select materials and print parameters; operate printers; post-process.
• Troubleshoot failed builds; document results for design improvements.
• Maintain a safe, organized prototyping workspace and data records.
