Job summary

Evantic in Houston, TX is seeking an Applications Design Engineer to bridge customers, sales, quality, and manufacturing. You will gather requirements, translate them into prototype designs, and develop test prototypes that meet manufacturability and customer needs.

You will use CAD tools to refine geometry, tolerances, and material choices, perform DFM validation, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver practical design solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial engineering or related discipline with 5+ years in a similar role.
• SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software proficiency.
• Ability to read technical drawings and customer specs.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into buildable prototype designs.
• Build/assemble/configure prototypes per specs.
• Design and execute test plans to validate prototype performance.
• Document test results and recommend design changes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to assess feasibility and tolerances.
• Maintain BOMs and drawings for handoff to production.
