Job summary

Smiths Interconnect, a Molex company, is seeking Cable Assembly Technicians for our Kansas City location. You’ll join a dynamic assembly environment using manual and automatic tools to build electronic, electro-mechanical components for prototypes and production runs.

Qualifications include 3+ years soldering, 3+ years cable prep/termination, and IPC J-STD-001/IPC-610/IPC-620 certifications. Teamwork and precise workmanship are essential in this on-site role at Kansas City.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• 3+ years’ experience soldering.
• 3+ years’ experience preparing and terminating cables and fine wires.
• IPC J-STD-001, IPC-610, IPC-620 certifications.
• Ability to work with others and maintain accuracy with small parts.
• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and performs functions per product process plans and complex engineering prints.
• Performs a wide variety of assembly/support on electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement systems.
• Follows methods and sequence of operations for wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing.
• Performs test and production machine setups adhering to tolerances.
• Provides feedback to Engineering on process improvements.
• Testing/Evaluation/Assembly of products and components.
• May close jobs and pull production schedules for the team.
• Requisitions and communicates maintenance needs for setups and adjustments.
