Job summary

Smiths Interconnect, a Molex company, seeks Cable Assembly Technicians for our Kansas City site. You will interpret process plans, perform wiring, assembly and testing on electronic and electro-mechanical systems.

The role requires 3+ years soldering and cable preparation, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-610/620 certifications, and the ability to read engineering drawings. You will work with microscopes, maintain quality and meet production rates.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience soldering
• 3+ years’ experience preparing and terminating cables and fine wires
• IPC J-STD-001, IPC-610, IPC-620 certification or extensive hands-on training
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Above average manual dexterity and precise work with small parts

Responsibilities

• Interpret and perform functions per product process plans and complex engineering prints.
• Assemble on electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement systems.
• Perform wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, and fitting on prototypes.
• Set up tests and production machines following tolerances.
• Provide feedback to Engineering on process and documentation improvements.
