Job summary

Fiber Global Inc. in Lafayette, IN, is seeking a skilled Craftsman to fabricate and refine prototype cabinetry components using Forged Fiber Board (FFB).

You will support prototyping, validation testing, and real-world demonstrations for cabinetry applications at our Lafayette R&D facility. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, using hand and power tools, and collaborating with R&D engineers to test material performance and iterate designs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• 6–10 years of hands-on fabrication or cabinetry experience, especially with engineered wood/composite materials.
• Proficiency with hand/power tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed R&D instructions.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail for iterative development.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, shape, join, and finish cabinetry components from Forged Fiber Board (FFB).
• Interpret drawings, prototypes, and R&D specs to build test parts.
• Use hand/power tools, routers, saws, and equipment for precision layout, cutting, routing, sanding, and assembly.
• Collaborate with R&D engineers to test material performance and iterate designs.
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, and surface quality.
• Document processes, observations, and improvement ideas for FFB applications in cabinetry.
• Maintain a safe, organized R&D workspace and follow safety protocols.
