Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking a Package R&D Technician to join our fabrication and prototype build team in California. The role focuses on building components and assemblies that comprise our generator enclosures, collaborating with engineers to refine parts for manufacturability and reliability.

You will work with a fast-paced test and build team, identify safety and productivity improvements, and require a minimum of seven years of metal fabrication and mechanical assembly experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience with mechanical assembly and/or repair, including experience with metal fabrication; cutting, grinding, and drilling required. Welding experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability and certification to use a forklift
• Ability to learn quickly, be self-motivated and safety oriented
• Cands must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., and wear required PPE

Responsibilities

• Build components and assemblies that make up our generator enclosures, install components and modify parts as needed for new prototype builds and to support production builds.
• Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components and assemblies focusing on manufacturability and reliability in order to meet the testing and qualification schedule of new designs.
• Work with a quick-learning build and test team to support ongoing testing and retrofits
• Identify opportunities to improve safety and productivity in the build process
