Marquardt Switches Inc. in Rochester Hills, MI is seeking a Prototype Builder / Build Technician on a temporary contract to support R&D in assembling and evaluating automotive switch units.

You'll work with engineering and cross-functional teams to build prototypes, flash software, and document build processes. This role requires hands-on experience with small components and tools, strong attention to detail, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in technician/prototype-build/electronics-assembly/manufacturing roles.
• Ability to handle small components and use hand tools with care.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation of results.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to adapt to evolving prototype designs.

Responsabilités

• Assemble prototype automotive switch units and related components per drawings and instructions.
• Support builds of steering-wheel, seat, window, and other switch assemblies.
• Flash or load software onto assemblies using approved tools.
• Perform functional checks and record results; report anomalies.
• Document assembly steps, deviations, rework, and outcomes.
• Identify issues and communicate with engineering.
• Label, protect, and package completed assemblies for evaluation.
• Maintain an organized, safe work area and manage tools.
• Follow quality, safety, and configuration-control procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program teams to support schedules.
