Job summary

Marquardt is seeking a Prototype Builder / Build Technician to join our automotive prototype team in Rochester Hills, MI. You will assemble and evaluate switch units, flash software, and document build processes to support design maturation toward production readiness.

You will work with engineering and cross-functional teams, following drawings and instructions, ensuring quality and safety while adapting to evolving requirements and keeping meticulous build records.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technician experience in prototype-build or electronics-assembly.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and document results clearly.
• Strong attention to detail during assembly and testing.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prototype switch units according to drawings and instructions.
• Support builds of steering-wheel, seat, window, and other switch assemblies.
• Flash or load software onto assemblies using approved tools.
• Perform functional checks and record results.
• Document assembly steps and any deviations or rework.
• Communicate issues to engineering and support change feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to meet schedules.
• Maintain organized, safe work area and proper tool care.
• Follow quality, safety, and configuration-control procedures.
