Job summary

Performix in Smyrna, GA is seeking a hands-on MAS technician to execute day-to-day operations in the Model Assembly Shop. You will receive parts, build prototypes, modify components, maintain inventory, and prepare shipping documentation.

The role requires 3–5 years in a technical field, an associate degree, and ability to read blueprints, use hand/power tools, and operate forklifts/cranes; on-site work with safety and quality focus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or an equivalent field preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in a related technical discipline.
• Working knowledge of model assembly, prototype build processes, and laboratory safety practices.
• Understanding of mechanical systems, electrical principles, and basic electrical system operation.
• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication or assembly equipment.
• Basic familiarity with analogue and digital electronics preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel, and Windows-based applications.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift and crane operation certifications.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints and material drawings.

Responsibilities

• Execute MAS tasks with accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Set up, maintain, and modify MAS mechanical systems and equipment.
• Conduct basic analysis and troubleshooting of prototype electronic circuits.
• Maintain a clean, safe MAS and laboratory environment.
• Use standard test and measurement tools to analyze physical dimensions.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, lifting devices, and industrial scales.
• Prepare clear documentation related to prototype builds, inventory activity, and shipping/receiving processes.
• Maintain MAS equipment and laboratory equipment for safe operation.
• Follow safety, environmental, and quality improvement procedures.
