Insight Global is seeking a Prototype / Assembly Support Technician to support the day-to-day operations of a prototype assembly and testing environment. This individual will be responsible for receiving materials, building and modifying prototype assemblies, maintaining inventory, supporting shipping and receiving activities, and ensuring a safe and organized workspace.

This role serves as a critical support function for engineering and product development teams by helping fabricate, assemble, and modify prototype equipment and components. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with tools and technical drawings, and a hands‑on approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.

Responsibilities include supporting prototype builds, operating material handling equipment, utilizing measurement and test equipment, documenting activities, maintaining inventory, and assisting with laboratory testing activities when needed.

Skills and Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, assembly, or technical support environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment

Basic understanding of electrical components and electrical principles

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
• Experience building, modifying, troubleshooting, or repairing equipment and mechanical assemblies
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
• Ability to work onsite and safely handle equipment, materials, and prototype components - Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field
• Military or aviation maintenance experience
• Experience in a prototype, R&D, laboratory, fabrication shop, or machine shop environment
• Experience using multimeters, power supplies, and other testing equipment
• Forklift and/or crane certifications
• Exposure to analog or digital electronics
• Experience supporting inventory control, shipping, and receiving processes
