Job summary

Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute in Hampton, VA is seeking Radiation Therapists to safely deliver proton therapy treatments and CT simulations while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

You will ensure patient safety and comfort, perform chart checks, input treatment data, and participate in quality control under the Radiation Therapy Supervisor and Director of Clinical Operations.

Qualifications

• Completed a formal radiation therapy technologist program from an accredited institution.
• Current ARRT(R) RT(T) certification and Virginia radiologic tech license or eligibility within 30 days.
• Experience with MOSAIQ Oncology Management System is a plus.
• Capable of assisting patients entering/exiting treatment and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to work Monday–Friday, 8am–8pm with flexible hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver proton radiation therapy treatments per prescription and protocol.
• Provide compassionate patient care and explain procedures to patients and families.
• Perform CT simulations on a rotating shift and ensure MRI safety.
• Input treatment data into oncology records and verify systems.
• Schedule treatments and educate patients on procedures.
• Maintain quality control and assist with department standards.
• Communicate challenges with management and maintain relationships.
