Job summary

Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute (Hampton Proton) seeks Radiation Therapists to safely perform proton therapy treatments and CT simulations while collaborating with oncology staff. Qualifications

• Formal radiation therapy technologist program from an accredited institution.
• Current R.T.(T)(ARRT) certification is required.
• Virginia license as a Radiologic Technologist or eligible within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver proton radiation therapy treatments per prescription and protocols.
• Provide patient care and education throughout treatment and CT simulations.
• Explain procedures to patients/families and respond to inquiries.
• Perform chart checks and ensure complete treatment documentation.
• Input treatment data into oncology records and verify systems.
• Schedule treatments and coordinate patient education and understanding.
• Perform CT simulations and maintain MRI safety awareness.
• Acquire and evaluate digital portal images for treatment accuracy.
• Support quality control and department operations as needed.
• Communicate challenges promptly to management and maintain teamwork.
