Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field service engineer to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced proton therapy systems at customer sites. You will provide on-site preventive and corrective maintenance, perform post-service testing, and communicate status to customers and internal teams.

The role requires strong electrical, mechanical, and software troubleshooting skills, with experience in imaging, control, and data analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field or 4–6+ years of relevant technical experience.
Experience with radiation therapy equipment, proton therapy systems, medical physics, or dosimetry preferred.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills on complex equipment.
Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, control and imaging systems, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

Operate, troubleshoot, test, and maintain proton therapy systems and related equipment at customer sites.
Provide on-site technical support including preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and post-service testing.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, instrumentation, control, and system interface issues to restore performance.
Monitor system operation and treatment performance; identify issues and communicate status to customers and internal teams.
Document service interventions, issues, performance metrics, and corrective actions; ensure regulatory compliance.
Maintain service tools, calibrated equipment, on-site spares, inventory, and materials for field support.
Develop and maintain knowledge of system software, control, electrical, vacuum, cooling, and hospital infrastructure.
