Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an experienced Proton Dosimetrist to support the Radiation Oncology team in Worcester, MA. The role includes treatment planning, dose calculations, and collaboration with therapists to ensure accuracy and safety in patient care.

Hybrid schedule with on-site presence in Worcester and Marlborough campuses; credentialing and education requirements align with AAMD standards. A signing bonus may be available during interview discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or graduation from a medical dosimetry program recognized by the AAMD.
• Experience with radiation physics and anatomy fundamentals.
• Ability to handle radioactive materials per Radiation Control Program rules.
• Proficiency with Windows-based Word/Excel; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatment planning and dose calculations based on physician prescriptions.
• Gather data during simulations for planning.
• Coordinate with radiation therapists to align planned vs. actual treatment fields.
• Participate in brachytherapy planning, dose calculations, and source handling.
• Maintain calibration records and documentation for radioactive sources.
