Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks an experienced Photon or Proton Dosimetrist to join the Radiation Oncology team in Worcester. The role supports treatment planning, dose calculations, and brachytherapy planning, with on-site and some hybrid scheduling.

Responsibilities include data gathering for planning, creating physician-guided plans, and coordinating with therapists to verify treatment fields. A relevant dosimetry education background is required, with evening/weekend flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic radiation physics, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and human anatomy.
• Ability to work independently with Windows- based word processing and spreadsheet programs.
• Willingness to respond to evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Gathers needed data for treatment planning during simulation.
• Creates treatment plans meeting physician prescriptions and guidelines.
• Performs dose calculations based on treatment plan approved by the physician.
• Coordinates with radiation therapists to align planned and actual fields.
• Participates in brachytherapy planning, dose calculation, and source handling.
• Maintains calibration and documentation of radioactive source materials in Radiation Oncology.
• Assists in radiation protection instruction and weekly chart rounds.
