The Capital Formation sales team drives awareness, adoption, and sales of Coinbase’s core products and services to protocol teams globally. Team members manage business development, sales, client relationships, and service across products for crypto companies and token issuers. The team collaborates with Product and other functions to enhance the offering and platform. Successful candidates will work with innovators and crypto companies to support Coinbase’s growth strategy.

Your responsibilities

• Market Coinbase’s suite of products & services to protocol teams and token issuers globally
• Provide white-glove sales and relationship management coverage for token issuers
• Structure, negotiate, and execute agreements for protocol-specific products (Liquifi, token sales, and prime)
• Assist senior team members in generating, filtering, and pursuing leads and inbound opportunities
• Communicate and align with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
• Work with product leaders to synthesize client feedback to inform the product roadmap
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and leverage other SMEs in the team
• Drive client acquisition and manage a portfolio of VIP global clients with strong, long-lasting relationships
• Build rapport and deepen connections with existing clients through proactive communication and relationship expansion

What we look for in you (requirements)

• 3+ years relevant experience in sales/business development for crypto, trading or custody environments, traditional finance sales, or enterprise sales
• Fierce passion for the rapidly evolving crypto industry and a commitment to staying current on trends and innovations
• Strong teamwork across Coinbase functions (Platform, Consumer, Base, Institutional) and cross-functional collaboration with Product, Legal, Marketing, Business Development, and Sales
• Self-starter who is motivated to push for results without micro-management
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to bring new ideas and methods
• Creative dealmaking and ability to identify commercial opportunities
• Strong strategic thinking, client-facing communication, and interpersonal skills
• Clear verbal communication; ability to simplify complex subjects
• Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, finance, production, legal, and data

Nice to have

• Led go-to-market for a token launch at a crypto protocol
• Sales experience at a competing custodian, exchange, token sale, or crypto trading platform
• Experience at a traditional financial institution
• Sell-side investment banking experience

Pay Transparency Notice: Base salary range shown. Total compensation includes equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).

Base salary range: $157,590 USD - $185,400 USD. Eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits depending on location and role.
