What You'll Do:
As a Proto Department Specialist, you will handle the set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of various machines to complete small-run production orders in a timely and accurate manner.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
- Communicates effectively with other departments within the Company in order to successfully complete jobs based upon client/production needs.
- Prioritizes and adjusts work schedule in order to meet deadlines specified in job requests to ensure customer and company goals are met.
- Reviews the production order and blueprints to ensure an accurate and high-quality product that aligns to the customer specifications.
- Maneuvers material to set up within the machine, with adherence to the layout, schedule and safety requirements.
- Performs the set-up, operation, troubleshooting, and change-over of various machines and tooling to ensure accurate and efficient output within the Proto Department.
- Checks and approves completed work against the blueprint for correct size, color and labeling to ensure order is accurate.
- Prepares the finished product for the next step, adding paperwork/labels, with gently rolling and boxing material, where appropriate.
Position Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma, GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience: 6 months of related experience in printing and/or vinyl graphic production environment preferred; will train the right person.
- Certification(s): N/A
- Functional Skills: This role requires the ability to perform machine set up, operation, and light troubleshooting. High attention to detail with an ability to read and understand documents, procedures and blue print specifications, along with the ability to match part numbers accurately. Basic math and counting skills are required. This role also requires strong prioritization skills, attention to details, as well as an ability to multi-task (running a machine and assembling product at the same time), with creative, problem-solving skills to think through issues in a fast-paced environment to meet output goals.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Knowledge of both PC and MAC based computer programs preferred. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products including Photoshop and Illustrator is preferred.
- Language Skills: Solid verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from those within and outside the organization.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Strong work ethic, energy level, pace, and values; strong focus on the customer, quality and accuracy, with the flexibility to move to priorities throughout the operation areas, following all Safety requirements.

Pay/Salary: Hourly position based on skills

Reports To: Art Production Supervisor
Core Hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Typical Work Week: M-F; 40 - 45 hours a week on average during peak times.
