Job description

Williams College seeks a student‑centered, collaborative, and highly motivated individual to serve as the Protestant Fellow in the Chaplains’ Office. This is a part‑time position that will provide the successful candidate an opportunity to learn about and engage in campus ministry at a residential, liberal arts college.

The Chaplains’ Office oversees and guides spiritual and religious life at Williams College. Supervised by the Director of Catholic Life & Christian Partnerships, the Fellow will work with Protestant Christian students to build and nurture student‑led religious and spiritual communities on campus, connect students with spiritual and religious resources within Williamstown, and provide logistical support for larger College events such as Lessons and Carols. The Fellow will be a valued member of the Chaplains’ Office team, regularly attending Chaplains’ Office staff meetings and participating in occasional gatherings with student‑facing staff members from other departments. Meeting with students 1:1, in small groups, and through more formal events and programming, the Fellow will join in the work of the Office to offer timely, sensitive, and appropriate pastoral and spiritual care.

This is a two‑year, renewable position. The Fellow is expected to work 12 hours per week, including some nights and weekends, for 10 months of the academic year (occasional day travel and overnight travel will be likely). This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
