Job summary

Allen Institute is seeking a Scientist III to lead the Proteome Editor Design / AI BioDesign flywheel in Seattle, WA. Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry or molecular biology or related field; 5+ years postdoc experience.
• Experience with functional genomics, massively parallel reporter assays, multiplexed assays of variant effect, saturation mutagenesis, or plasmid library-based screening.
• Ability to lead scientific projects and collaborate cross-functionally with ML teammates.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Proteome Editor team to build/run rapid design–test–learn pipeline.
• Design library screening and degrader evaluation experiments for high-quality datasets.
• Partner with ML colleagues to define targets and implement active-learning strategies.
