Job summary

MSD Malaysia offers a Future Talent Program internship in Structural Chemistry within our Protein & Structural Chemistry department. Interns will engage in crystallography, Cryo‑EM, and a range of biochemical and biophysical experiments to support structure-based drug discovery.

Salary is provided with 10‑12 weeks duration beginning in June 2027, located at multiple US sites; strong lab skills and academic excellence are required for participation.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be pursuing BS/BA or Master’s/Ph.D. degree in related field with demonstrated interest/experience in research areas relevant to the drug discovery process.

Responsibilities

• Preparative protein purification
• Characterization using SDS-PAGE
• Spectroscopic and analytical chromatographic methods
• Biochemical and biophysical pre‑crystallization assays
• Crystallization screening and crystal optimization
• Crystal harvesting
• Grid preparation for Cryo‑EM
• Data collection, processing, and structure determination
• Critical analysis of protein‑ligand structural data
