Job summary

Alector, Inc. seeks an experienced Protein Sciences leader to oversee protein production, purification, and analyses, including antibody–oligonucleotide conjugates. You will manage a small internal team and coordinate with external CROs to advance programs from discovery toward development.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, cross‑functional collaboration, and the integration of AI tools to accelerate research and development in a fast-paced biotech environment in South San Francisco.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent with substantial protein sciences exposure and leadership experience.
• Experience advancing therapeutic proteins/antibodies from discovery toward development.
• Strong hands-on protein production, purification, and analytical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal and CRO protein sciences activities to deliver high-quality proteins and conjugates.
• Build capabilities for antibody–oligonucleotide conjugates and emerging modalities.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a small Protein Sciences team; leverage CRO partners effectively.
