Job summary

Apriori Bio is seeking Northeastern Co-Op students for a six-month, full-time role to turn computational vaccine designs into well-characterized proteins. You will work on antigen validation, expression, and assay development within a dynamic protein science team.

You will gain hands-on experience in expression, purification, and characterization, collaborating with experimental and computational scientists while contributing to disease-prevention research.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS or MS in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory coursework or research experience, such as SDS-PAGE, solution preparation, and accurate pipetting.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.
• Preferred: exposure to protein purification/chromatography or plate-based assays such as ELISA.
• Strong organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Express recombinant vaccine antigens and antibodies in mammalian expression systems and assist with scale-up.
• Purify proteins using affinity and size-exclusion chromatography on ÄKTA systems.
• Characterize protein quality and stability using SDS-PAGE, SEC, and thermal stability methods.
• Assist with binding and functional assays (ELISA, BLI) and document results in Lab notebooks.
• Record experiments and present findings at team meetings.
