Qualifications

• 3+ years in purchasing, category management, merchandising, sales, or procurement in food distribution or protein.
• Strong knowledge of protein products, suppliers, pricing, and market dynamics.
• Proven negotiation and analytical skills with focus on margin and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute protein category strategy for State Street Division.
• Collaborate with Sales to understand customer needs and drive profitable growth.
• Provide pricing guidance based on costs, market conditions and GP goals.
• Build category forecasts from historical data and trends.
• Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage inventory to reduce out-of-stocks.
• Communicate category performance and opportunities to leadership.
