Job summary

County Of Elbert Co. seeks a Protective Services Supervisor to oversee adult and child protective services in Kiowa, CO. This role ensures compliance with state and federal guidelines and provides supervision and coaching to caseworkers.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field, a master’s degree preferred, and extensive professional casework experience. The incumbent will maintain licensure, travel within the region, and be on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of investigative and interviewing techniques and procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to record and present accurate documentation in oral and written form.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with a variety of individuals and agencies.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing under strict timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of Child Protective and Adult Protective Services consistent with State rules and regulations.
• Meets with caseworkers weekly to provide support, guidance, and coaching; ensure accuracy and timeliness of assessments and cases; connect with resources.
• Participates in ARD review processes and assists with preparation and follow-up of recommendations.
• Performs supervisory review and approval within Trails and CAPS to ensure documentation and approvals are completed timely.
• Lead Red Team referral discussions to support informed decision-making.
• Attend court hearings in support of Protective Services Caseworkers.
• Assist with staff performance reviews and professional growth plans.
• Provide scheduled on-call coverage after-hours, county closures, weekends and holidays.
• Perform Protective Services Caseworker duties as needed.
