Job summary

The State of Alaska is recruiting for full-time Protective Services Specialist 1/2/3 in Craig or Juneau, Alaska. The role focuses on child protection within Family Services and Investigations & Assessment, with travel to Southeast Alaska communities as needed.

Start level varies (1, 2, or 3) based on experience, and duties include investigations, intervention planning, and collaboration with Tribes and service providers.

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking and problem solving to assess cases and plan interventions.
• Strong customer service orientation when engaging with families and partners.
• Demonstrates integrity and ethical conduct in all interactions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with families, communities, and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of child abuse and/or neglect and assess safety concerns.
• Develop and implement intervention plans with cooperation from families and partners.
• Place children out of the home when necessary and coordinate placement options.
• Provide ongoing or in-home services to families and write/c submit reports to the Court.
