Job summary

The State of Alaska's Office of Children's Services seeks Protective Service Specialists in Sitka or Juneau. This field-based role involves investigating reports of child abuse and neglect, developing safety and intervention plans, and coordinating with families and partners to ensure child well-being.

You will work across the Southeast Regional Offices, travel as needed, and join a team guided by competency-based minimum qualifications.

Qualifications

• Competency Based MQs focus on KSAs and behavior.
• Includes reviewing application materials to assess required competencies.
• Campaigns for child safety and family support through interventions.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of child abuse/neglect and determine safety needs.
• Develop intervention plans and coordinate with families to address protective factors.
• Collaborate with Courts, Tribes, and community partners to support placement where needed.
