Job summary

State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Division for Children, Youth and Families, seeks Child Protective Service Workers I–IV to assess safety, investigate reports of abuse/neglect, and coordinate services for children and families. Entry points vary by level with increasing case complexity and required qualifications.

Advancement is possible within the CPSW series, with academy completion and performance-based approvals.

Qualifications

• CPSW I equivalent: 2.5 years of education and experience after high school in social work or related fields.
• CPSW II: Associate's degree and 2 years of experience OR 4 years of education and experience.
• CPSW III: Bachelor's degree and 1.5 years of experience OR 5.5 years of education and experience.
• CPSW IV: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience OR 7 years of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and develops relationships with children and families to assess safety and prevent neglect.
• Conducts interviews in accordance with agency protocols and safety planning.
• Collaborates with community agencies to provide services to families.
• Completes documentation and maintains case records as required.
