Job summary

Lake County Government seeks a Child and Adult Protective Services Caseworker to perform intake assessments for CPS with overflow support for APS. Responsibilities include intake, screening, investigations, and ongoing services to families and vulnerable adults, ensuring safety through community collaboration and advocacy.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a social science, two years of related experience, strong interviewing skills, and the ability to testify in court.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science such as social work, counseling, psychology, or sociology.
• Two (2) years of professional caseworker or human services experience preferred.
• Ability to testify in court when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations of CPS and APS referrals to determine abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Develop and implement individualized case plans for families and at-risk adults.
• Document case activities using TRAILS and maintain accurate records.
• Advocate for clients and coordinate with law enforcement, healthcare, and schools.
