Job summary

The State of Missouri, Department of Social Services – Children's Division, seeks an experienced Social Services Specialist to support families and protect at-risk children in Jefferson County, Hillsboro, MO, including the satellite office in St. Louis as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of protective services experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Social Work or related field (Substitutions allowed)
Valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with partnering agencies serving children and families
Assist families to attain stability through casework, home management or referrals for counseling
Interact with law enforcement and juvenile officers, public officials, and community organizations
Represent Children’s Division during court hearings and related meetings
Respond to needs of children in homes and communities, providing transportation if needed
Other duties as assigned
