Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience as a Social Services Specialist.
• Bachelor's degree and four+ years of professional or technical experience providing social services or conducting investigations or audits of social service providers, recipients and/or applicants.
• Preference for team lead positions and travel within the service area.

Responsibilities

• Assist Unit Supervisor with onboarding and training of new staff in APS policy and field training.
• Assist Unit Supervisor with completing case record reviews for team members in training.
• Provide technical assistance with APS Programs and Systems to Social Services Specialists.
• Serve as liaison between APS Quality Assurance and respective team to champion division quality initiatives and communicate feedback to each team member in a meaningful way.
• Work a caseload with an approximate 25% reduction, focusing on protective services cases of greater complexity.
• Provide feedback on draft policies to division management, as requested.
• Provide presentations to community organizations, providers, and the public regarding the services and policies of DSDS.
• Identify and address unmet needs, determine risks, and implement protective service interventions to reduce risk and increase safety for customers.
• Assist the Social Services Specialist with identifying resources and utilizes creative approaches to problem-solving within the investigative and/or intervention process.
• Assist the Social Services Specialist with court proceedings and/or legal interventions.
• Other duties assigned.
