Job summary

The Department of Family & Community Services in Alaska is seeking a Protect

ive Service Specialist (PSS) in Fairbanks. The role covers Child Protection Services in multiple units and involves travel across the interior of Alaska about four times a month. You will investigate child abuse/neglect, develop intervention plans, and work with families to ensure child safety, often coordinating with Tribes and other partners.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of child abuse/neglect and develop intervention plans with families.
• Coordinate with Tribal/Community partners and other agencies.
• Travel throughout interior Alaska approximately 4+ times per month.
• Prepare reports to the Court and provide in-home services as needed.
• Work to ensure child safety and support families to address protective factors.
