The Protective Services Officer is responsible for patrolling the JHMI campus via foot, mobile unit, or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions, infringements, etc.

Hours: Day/Evening/Overnight

Education:

• Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of security functions as would normally be acquired through significant experience in a security operation, preferably with the completion of a High School degree or equivalent. Requires acceptable completion of basic security officer training.
• Assignment to the Communications Center requires successful completion of 911 and Communications dispatch training.

Requirements:

• Requires current certification in use of Corporate Security Services self-defense equipment.
• Valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
• Valid Guard Card.
• 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Work Experience:

• The candidate must have one (1) year of security experience in the Protective Services Officer program at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions or be a law enforcement officer who has graduated from an accredited law enforcement training academy. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Salary Range: Minimum $17.11 per hour - Maximum $28.26 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
