Job summary

Salt River Project (SRP) in Arizona is seeking a Relay Technician to perform programming, calibration, testing, and maintenance of protective relaying systems across generation, transmission, and distribution facilities. The role supports both relay commissioning and construction activities, with overtime and on-site responsibilities.

The position has two levels depending on experience: Technician II and Senior Technician, with responsibilities expanding accordingly.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory.
• Experience with relay and test set applications.

Responsibilities

• Programming settings on microprocessor relays and IEDs.
• Commissioning and energizing protective relay systems and telemetry devices.
• Use test equipment to simulate faults for validation of protective relay systems.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of protective relaying systems.
• Develop and submit commissioning and maintenance testing documentation for asset management and regulatory compliance.
