Job summary

ARA is seeking an experienced protective design engineer to join our Southern Division, with on-site work in our offices in Vicksburg, MS or Alexandria, VA.

You will perform static and dynamic analyses, prepare calculation packages and reports, and collaborate with clients while supporting business development. The role requires a civil/structural/mechanical background and the ability to obtain security clearance; some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in structural dynamics and design.
• 5–7 years of related experience; advanced degree preferred with 3–5 years.
• Experience with finite element methods and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple to complex structural analysis and design using finite element methods.
• Conduct static and dynamic analysis for extreme events with engineers.
• Prepare calculation packages and technical reports with recommendations.
• Limited travel may be involved to collect site information.
• Engage with clients and develop business with new markets.
