Job summary

ARA is seeking an experienced protective design engineer to join our Southern Division. This on-site role can be in Vicksburg, MS or Alexandria, VA.

You will perform finite element analyses and develop design solutions, preparing detailed calculation packages and reports for clients. The position requires a Civil/Structural/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3–5 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in structural dynamics and design.
• GPA of at least 3.00/4.00.
• 5–7 years related experience; advanced degree preferred with 3–5 years experience.
• Security clearance required; government investigation for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple to complex structural analysis and design, including static and dynamic, non-linear methods.
• Conduct static and dynamic analysis for extreme events.
• Prepare calculation packages and technical reports with recommendations.
• Limited travel to collect site data; interact with clients and develop new markets.
