Job summary

Elder Services of Cape Cod & Islands is seeking a Protective Services Worker to provide crisis intervention and advocacy for elderly clients within Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket Counties. The role is full-time in South Dennis, with a 34-hour week and typical hours Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm.

The position requires a relevant degree (Master’s preferred) with experience, a MA driver’s license and car, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel within the service area.

The Protective Services Worker is responsible for crisis intervention, advocacy, and management of service delivery to resolve the crisis issues and protect the safety and security needs of the elderly within the parameters of the program. Monday- Friday, 9a-5p, 34 hours per week plus unpaid one hour lunch each day. $37.36per hour.

What do you need to be considered for this position?

• Ability to work independently and professionally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid MA driver’s license and car required
• A Master’s degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, or gerontology plus at least 1 year of experience in counseling or case management preferably in a PS or crisis intervention capacity OR a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school (in above listed fields) plus at least 2 years’ experience.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Valid MA driver’s license, and car required to travel daily throughout the service area, training and meetings. Occasional off-Cape travel.
