Job summary

SpaceXAI in Memphis, TN is seeking a Protection & Controls Engineer to design, set, commission, and maintain protection and control systems for large electrical infrastructure. You will own schemes from interconnection to distribution, including storage resources, and travel to other sites as needed.

Responsibilities include developing protection philosophy, creating diagrams, specifying relays and transformers, performing studies, and coordinating with SCADA/IEC 61850.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in protection and controls on medium- or high-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop protection philosophy and diagrams from interconnection to facility buses.
• Set and maintain protective relay logic for lines, transformers, and storage resources.
• Coordinate protection with SCADA, RTUs, and plant monitoring systems.
• Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies; maintain settings.
• Commission protection systems and conduct end-to-end tests; analyze events.
