Job summary

AEP in Columbus, OH is seeking a P&C Technician II to assist with installation, testing and maintenance of protection and control devices in substations. You will work under supervision and support SCADA, PLC, and related communications equipment.

Candidates should have an Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology; no prior experience required for II. Travel, overtime and relocation assistance are possible as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical engineering technology, electronic technology or related field.
• No prior experience required for P&C Technician II.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in acceptance and installation tests on protection, control, and measurement devices.
• Assist in installation, maintenance, and operation of power line carriers, SCADA, and communications equipment.
• Perform switching under supervision and maintain test/automotive equipment.
• Prepare records, reports and drawings as required.
• Test and calibrate protection & control devices per schedule.
