Job summary

The American Electric Power company in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a P&C Technician II/Sr to support the installation, testing and maintenance of protection and control devices and related equipment in stations and SCADA systems.

Role requires an associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, with at least 24 months of related experience or progression through technician levels. Relocation support is offered and travel may be required.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or related field.
No prior work experience required.
Willingness to travel and relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist in acceptance and installation tests of protection, control and measurement devices.
Assist in installation, maintenance and operation of power line carriers and SCADA communications.
Perform switching under direct supervision and maintain test equipment.
Prepare records, reports and drawings; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Calibrate and test protection and control devices on a schedule; diagnose issues.
