Job Responsibilities
- Install, commission, test, and maintain protective relay equipment, powerline carrier equipment, DFRs, RTUs, and communication processors.
- Perform functional testing for protection and control circuitry.
- Upgrade RTUs and telecom for clients.
- Work with SEL and GE microprocessor relays.
- Review and submit test reports.
- Interpret diagrams and recognize discrepancies.
- Complete time and expense reports; maintain company vehicles.
Education/Experience
- 5+ years in electrical testing with protection and control equipment, RTUs, and telecom.
- Degree in Engineering/Technology, Technical school diploma, or military experience.
- Experience with transmission and distribution relays, substation RTUs, and telecom equipment.
- Project management experience in HV substations.
- Familiarity with NERC CIP requirements.
Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and drive regularly.
- Pass physical exams, drug tests, and background checks.
- Valid driver's license and OSHA training.
- Work in changing outdoor conditions, overtime, and travel extensively.
