Job summary

University of Louisville is seeking a Prospect Research Analyst II to provide full-scale prospect development services throughout the prospect life cycle. You will manage research and identification projects, collaborating with leadership and fundraisers to support pipeline management and activity.

The role requires developing and executing strategies for fundraising readiness, advising on portfolio management, and maintaining awareness of news affecting prospective donors.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (prefer master's) in a related field.
• Knowledge of current trends in philanthropy and fundraising principles.
• Experience (typically 2–4 years) in prospect/development research.
• Experience (typically 2–4 years) with web-based research databases and techniques.
• Experience (typically 2–4 years) using relational databases.
• Knowledge and understanding of the principles of fundraising.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes advanced research and analytical methodologies to identify and rank a pool of prospective donors and volunteers for fundraising programs.
• Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to produce briefings and reports informing decision-making with wealth estimates and capacity ratings.
• Advises on portfolio management and reviews fundraising benchmarks focusing on prospect movement through the fundraising cycle.
• Reviews prospects with leadership and fundraisers, develops strategies for fundraising readiness, and maintains alert strategies for key prospects.
• Collaborates with campus partners on portfolio development, solicitation strategy, and information gathering.
• Provides consultative sessions on research methodologies and resources to fundraisers and faculty.
