Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Prospect Research Analyst to perform donor research and analytics across individuals, corporations, and foundations. You will evaluate financial capacity and philanthropic tendencies, maintain prospect records, and support fundraising decisions with accurate profiles.

The role requires excellent written and verbal communication, adherence to ethics, and familiarity with donor databases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or preferred in fundraising, information/library science, marketing/communications, business, health administration or related field.
  • At least 1 year of donor fundraising operations or prospect research experience.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and donor databases is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct donor and prospect research across individuals, corporations and foundations.

  • Maintain and update prospect records in the donor data system.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Prospect Research Analyst provides donor and organization prospect research/analytics on current and potential donors across Trinity Health. Identifies and researches prospects and analyzes biographical, financial, or other data obtained from a variety of internal and external sources to determine capacity and inclination to give. Responsible for entering and updating prospect research data in the Trinity Health shared donor data management system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. 1. Uses research skills to collect, evaluate, analyze, qualify, and organize information in a way that maximizes its usefulness and enables accurate and educated decision-making in the development of fundraising strategies.
  2. 2. Provides research on individuals, corporations and foundations using an array of organizational and financial sources, including online database services, Internet websites, library and government sources and other resources of public information.
  3. 3. Collects and analyzes information to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies and giving propensity of donors/prospects. Maintains and updates prospect records in a timely manner.
  4. 4. Establishes good rapport and cooperative relationships, providing excellent customer service to internal and/or external customers.
  5. 5. Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.
  6. 6. Adheres to the Code of Professional Fundraising Ethics, Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) Code of Ethics and the Donor's Bill of Rights and fulfills all aspects of the Trinity Health standard Code of Conduct.
  7. 7. Maintains confidentiality of wealth screening processes and output results of donors/prospects.
  8. 8. Keeps current with HIPAA and Fundraising regulations and works to ensure compliance with all Protected Health Information (PHI) confidentiality requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 1. Bachelor's degree in Fundraising, Information and Library Science, Marketing and Communications, Business Administration, Health Administration or related field is preferred.
  2. 2. At least one (1) year of previous experience with Fundraising Operations or Prospect Research is required. An understanding of the donor solicitation cycle (Identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship) is preferred. Healthcare or Higher Education fundraising experience is preferred.
  3. 3. Knowledge of and familiarity in the use and applications of industry standard data analytics and research tools is preferred. Such tools may include, but are not limited to: ResearchPoint, Lexis Nexis, CoreLogic, Larkspur, Hoovers, Guidestar, NOZA Search, Dun and Bradstreet Credibility Corp, Marquis Who’sWho, Refinitiv, Experian, ProPublica, Candid (formerly known as Foundation Directory Online), and various county deeds and other public websites.
  4. 4. Knowledge of and familiarity in the use of donor databases and Microsoft applications is preferred. Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and Blackbaud CRM are preferred.
  5. 5. The ability to perform and produce data mining, wealth screening, target analytics, and predictive statistical data models in the furtherance of system-wide and ministry specific fundraising initiatives is preferred.
  6. 6. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop and deliver accurate, confidential, and detailed donor profiles and reports.

  1. 1. Must be able to adopt the frequently changing work priorities, and the requirements of working with the System Office and Regional Health Ministries (RHMs)
