Job summary

The UMass Amherst Foundation is looking for a Prospect Management Analyst to join their team in Hadley, Massachusetts. This hybrid position involves maximizing fundraising potential, managing gift officer portfolios, and utilizing AI tools for analytics. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Key responsibilities include supporting fundraising strategies, reviewing prospect pools, and optimizing portfolio productivity. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience. A commitment to diversity and inclusion is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2+ years of experience in prospect research, prospect management and/or prospect development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated comfort using AI tools to summarize, draft, or analyze, and a willingness to integrate them into daily work.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a customer service‑oriented environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support prospect management strategies for fundraising colleagues.
• Build and maintain fundraiser portfolios.
• Review and manage prospect holding pools.
• Participate in portfolio review sessions.
• Evaluate portfolio productivity and fundraiser activities.
• Apply analytics to evaluate gift officer strategies.
• Use AI tools to identify patterns and refine output.
• Provide proposal-related support.
• Capture relationship management data into the donor database.
• Ensure confidentiality of donor information.
• Communicate effectively with fundraisers.
• Contribute to process improvement.
• Generate prospect lists for fundraisers.
• Assist in training student workers.
