• Prepare confidential research profiles, briefings, and due diligence reports.
• Monitor news and developments and communicate updates to fundraising staff.
• Create and analyze prospect lists using research methodologies and predictive analytics.
• Support prospect reviews, moves management, and portfolio adjustments.
• Maintain accurate prospect and relationship records in the constituent database.
• Prepare travel briefings for development officers and university leadership.
• Partner with officers throughout the fundraising cycle and support research tools and SOPs.

Job description

• Conduct proactive and responsive prospect research using internal advancement data, public records, subscription research tools, and other reliable resources
• Analyze biographical, philanthropic, financial, business, and relationship information to assess donor capacity, inclination, and affinity
• Prepare confidential research profiles, briefings, due diligence reports, and analytical materials for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
• Monitor relevant news, business, philanthropic, and institutional developments and communicate updates to fundraising staff
• Create and analyze prospect lists using research methodologies, wealth screening results, predictive analytics, and institutional data
• Support prospect reviews, prospect assignments, moves management strategies, and portfolio adjustments
• Maintain accurate prospect, constituent, relationship manager, and prospect management records
• Prepare prospect lists and travel briefings for development officers and university leadership
• Partner with development officers and advancement staff throughout the fundraising cycle
• Support prospect development tools, research techniques, reporting resources, and constituent database functionality
• Develop and maintain research templates, documentation, and standard operating procedures
• Participate in professional development and perform related duties and special projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Library Science, Communications, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field; or a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the degree
• At least three years of experience using a personal computer and Microsoft or Google business software for daily business, communication, and data management
• Ability to conduct online research using internet and social media tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize information accurately
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and produce professional work products in a timely fashion while balancing multiple priorities
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Experience supporting fundraising, nonprofit, higher education, or other relationship-based business functions preferred
• Experience writing summaries, reports, briefing materials, or other analytical work products preferred
• Resume and cover letter required
• Must pass a criminal background check
