Job summary

Hyundai Motor Company seeks a Propulsion Test Engineer II to advance propulsion calibration across internal combustion, hybrid, and battery-electric systems. You will instrument test vehicles, collect data, and help define targets with lead engineers.

The role covers driving-condition testing, data-driven root-cause analysis, and validating powertrain strategies to meet US market expectations. A BS in engineering and 4+ years of propulsion experience are required, with MATLAB/Simulink

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering
• 4+ years of experience working with propulsion systems
• Experience with vehicle evaluations and data/root cause analysis

Responsibilities

• Instrument test vehicles with sensors (accelerometers, thermocouples, microphones) to collect data
• Identify drivability and fuel economy strengths/weaknesses from data
• Plan and participate in test trips across diverse driving conditions
• Collaborate with lead engineers to validate drivability strategies
• Perform powertrain performance testing and data analysis
• Participate in drive events and provide powertrain evaluator perspective
• Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally
