Job summary

General Motors is seeking a propulsion systems analyst to develop and validate 1D/3D models for electrified and conventional propulsion systems. Expect collaboration with global teams and mentoring responsibilities within a hybrid work model in Warren, Michigan.

The role emphasizes integrating models for SIl and HIL co-simulation, interpreting results, and delivering actionable design recommendations to engineers. Proficiency in GT-SUITE/AMESIM and programming with Python or MATLAB is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required.
• 2+ years of experience with simulation, design, testing, or release of propulsion-related systems or hardware.
• Experience with GT-SUITE, AMESIM, or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and exercise analytical system-level models for propulsion systems using 1D and 3D tools.
• Integrate plant models from different domains for Software-in-the-Loop or Hardware-in-the-Loop co-simulation.
• Provide component- and system-level design recommendations based on analysis results.
• Improve analysis practices and tools to enhance prediction fidelity and execution speed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across VDDV and mentor junior members.
• Support automation and tooling development using Python or MATLAB.
