Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking an experienced CFD engineer in hybrid Warren MI to develop electrification propulsion simulations. You will work in a collaborative team leveraging 3D CFD models to influence design and reduce hardware testing.

The role includes mentoring, presenting results to peers, and advancing automation through Python/Java. Requirements include a BS in Engineering, 5+ years CFD experience, and knowledge of propulsion system design.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering required; 5+ years CFD experience.
• Proven ability to develop new CFD procedures and methods.
• Familiarity with propulsion system design, operation or testing.
• Experience with STAR-CCM+ or Simerics-MP+ and CFD optimization tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative CFD simulations for electrification propulsion components.
• Collaborate in small teams on complex multiphase flow and thermal simulations.
• Apply capabilities to impact design, manufacturing, and reduce hardware testing.
• Provide design recommendations based on analysis results.
• Present analysis results to peers and management; mentor colleagues.
• Contribute to automation tool development using Python or Java.
• Benchmark new procedures, tech, or software tools.
• Support problem resolution with analysis insights.
