Job summary

Boom is seeking an engineer with a strong propulsion and thermodynamics background to own a key piece of the propulsion system, from cycle performance to nozzle design, and to work directly on test stands and in the shop with multidisciplinary teams.

You will analyze thermodynamic cycles and turbomachinery to define operating limits and support real-time engine testing, troubleshooting anomalies, and driving hardware revisions for production readiness.

Qualifications

  • Requires degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Internship or co-op with propulsion/thermal-fluids experience.
  • Hands-on modeling with CFD/thermodynamics tools and FEA exposure.
  • Strong grounding in propulsion fundamentals and real‑world results.

Responsibilities

  • Own propulsion subsystem from cycle performance to nozzle design with accountability.
  • Collaborate with test stands and shop teams to turn concepts into hardware.
  • Analyze cycles and turbomachinery to set operating limits for imminent use.
  • Support engine testing in real time; interpret data and drive design iterations.
  • Coordinate with design/manufacturing to optimize gas-path components.
